My Christmas Stocking Crochet Pattern
If you're here, than I'm hoping it's because you were in search of an oh so cute crochet pattern for a Christmas Stocking. In that case I hope you enjoy the pattern I have shared here. You can also get a printer friendly copy here if you'd like to print it out. This is a fairly easy crochet pattern beginner to intermediate level. I've tried to break every part down for you to make it easy to understand. Each stocking is made up of 16 hexagonal motifs and 1 square ( for the toe). If you can crochet a granny square, this should be no problem for you as it's just an additional 2 sides. I have also included a diagram I put together to show you how to piece the motifs together. I have enjoyed making these for my little family as well as friends of mine, and I have had many, many requests as well. I hope you enjoy this free pattern and if you do make one, I would love to see the finished product. You can email it to me here.

You're all done with the motifs. Now to assemble your stocking. Just a simple stitching along the edges. That's where you will need your tapestry needle. I have included a diagram of the pattern placement to help. It's much easier if you lay them down in the order they're supposed to go, and sew one at a time.
If you come across mistakes in my instructions, feel free to leave a comment, and I will correct it as needed. This was the first time I had written down a pattern as I went, but hopefully it'll work out okay. Happy Yarning!!

Beautiful, I never really been into the whole crochet thing but I think I'm going to give it a try, the colors are so pretty, I think it could be a way for me and my daughter to bond.
I was just wondering, following your pattern, how big would the stocking be?
Very useful info! Thanks a lot for your kind sharing!

Hi and thanks so much for the adorable stocking pattern! I've just finished the motifs and now about to start assembly by I'm unsure of how to do this part. Would you please help with the directions?
this would actually be a really cool present.. like making them personally for someone.. that would be the type of Christmas decorations people hold onto for generations because they have sentimental value
Thanks for the pattern! Will have to try this one out. Voted up!
Thanks for sharing such a nice hub. Very lovely patterns.
Take Care. :)

I love this. I am always looking for new patterns, though right now I am addicted to the hairpin lace.
