Have you ever been going about your business and out you happen to hear a song that really grabs your attention:? Whether it's because of the words you hear, a funky beat that makes you want to dance or just the music alone that touches you? A couple of months ago I had my television on MTV while I was cleaning, and I heard the most beautiful song I had heard in a very long time. The music first which was slow and dark, and then the voice. THE VOICE. Usually when I have a new favorite song, it develops after hearing it at least 3 or 4 times and then I say it's a favorite. Occasionally, however, and not very often at all, I have a "love at first sight".....or I guess love at first listen moment with a song. That's what happened this night.

Before you watch the video or read the lyrics, here's the inside scoop on the song. On Christina Perri's blog, she wrote about how this song came to be. It was about a guy she dated in the past , a serial heart breaker. I definitely have known a couple of those in my life :). Here's what she said:

"I wrote the song after I went home to Philadelphia for the holiday last December. I sat in my childhood bedroom and hid from the boy (with the jar of hearts) who wanted to see me. My heart wanted to see him, my head knew better."

When I went to her website, I got so excited to see that she was coming to Texas this summer and actually playin in Houston, Austin, and Dallas.  I would LOVE to go to a concert.  You can check her tour schedule to see if she'll be visiting close to your town.  Her tour from what I can tell begins July 16th, 2011.

The Christina Perri website is a great place for all of her growing fans. Her blog is very personal, not like other celebrities may be at times. It's great to read about her story from beginning to where she is now. It's not every day an artist like this is discovered. Now days it's about how much money you have, sometimes actors want to venture out into the music world, or sometimes all you have to do is be a housewife to get into the studio.........or have a big butt.

If you have a teenage daughter with an upcoming birthday or other celebratable (my word), I can almost guarantee she would love anything Christina Perri like the package on her store for $60 that includes several items including a racer back tank and a screen printed lithograph ....or even a concert ticket, which just happen to be at a super low cost of under $25 from what I've been seeing. Just sayin.
