IRS No Longer Sends Out Form Booklets

You may have been aware of this, but the IRS no longer mails out the tax booklets and forms. You now have to download your form directly from the IRS website. They have also redone their forms and publications page, which I'm not too crazy about. There are a number of ways to get to the form you need, such as the archive of prior year products page, this page that organizes forms by Year, one I recommend is the topical index page. However, If you are using a common tax form, you can simply check the list below to see if it's there, and it will take you directly to the form you need. These are all in PDF format and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The "Universal" tax form so to speak. Anyone may use this form, it's the long tax form because it covers every possibility. If you don't know which form you need to use, it's always safe to start with this one.

More on the Subject

You may or may not be aware of the multiple changes the IRS has made with deductibles, exemptions, limits, extensions, etc. There are many. Most of the ones I read over are all beneficial to each taxpayer it applies to. It would be a good idea if you haven't heard about these changes to have a look at them. You can read about some of them on my other hub , or you can visit www.irs.gov. It will definitely be worth the read as it may save you, or maybe earn you a larger amount than you originally would receive.
